For over a hundred years, the Geneva International Motor Show has been synonymous with excellence and the future of automotive. First held in 1905, GIMS has introduced the world to legendary cars that have defined their era. Also known affectionately as the “Salon de Genève”, our event is widely recognised as a launch pad and guiding light for the industry, attracting over 10,000 journalists and more than 600,000 visitors.

Driven by the same spirit of innovation that led to the show in 1905, the Geneva International Motor Show has expanded its borders in 2023 and now features two events: one in Geneva and another in Doha. As international hubs known for their automotive enthusiasts, focus on excellence, breakthrough innovations, and unbiased attitude towards manufacturing, these complementary host cities are ideally placed to usher in the new era of automotive.

Historic. Iconic. Progressive. Held at the beginning of March every year at the Palexpo exhibition centre, next to Geneva Airport, the “Salon de Genève” offers an unmissable programme of events and attractions. The oversized exhibition area allows manufacturers to present hundreds of new models and feature all the latest technology. The Geneva International Motor Show is the only yearly European motor show recognised by the International Organisation of Automobile Constructors (OICA).

The Geneva International Motor Show is organised by the Comité Permanent du Salon International de l’Automobile, a not-for-profit foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland. As such it is independent, impartial, and has no political affiliation.

ALEXANDRE DE SENARCLENS

Alexandre de Senarclens, native from Geneva, holds a law degree and a master’s degree in law. He has been a partner in a Geneva law firm since 2010. He is also involved in politics within Die Liberalen party (FDP) of Geneva and sits today as a member of the Grand Council in Geneva.

SANDRO MESQUITA

Sandro Mesquita joined the Geneva International Motor Show in May 2020 as Chief Executive Officer, following more than 20 years of executive experience in Marketing and Business Development for national and international groups. He is passionate about all things automotive and innovative.
