Tour d’Excellence: Day 13 – Piraeus to Athens

09.09.2023 – Day 13 – Piraeus – Athens – 91 km

6:00 a.m.

We docked at the port of Piraeus. The sheer number of gigantic ferries was impressive! We’ve never seen anything like it!

7:10 a.m.

After breakfast in the port of Piraeus and photos of the ID Buzz and the ferry, we continued our journey to the Acropolis of Athens. Even though it was just before 9:00 a.m., there was already an unbelievable amount of tourists. We improvised a photo session at the foot of the Acropolis, until the police asked us to leave.

Next stop: the traditional changing of the guard of the evzones guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier in front of the Greek Parliament. The changing of the guard is a complex and meticulously rehearsed choreography that’s well worth seeing.

We then set off in search of a charging point for our ID Buzz. And we downloaded the Elpe Future app, number 26 of our trip!

With a 100% charge and a range of 434 km, we then went on to satisfy the rumbling stomachs of our fellow travellers.

4:50 p.m.

Arrival at the Vincci Ever Eden Beach Resort in Athens-Sounio. We were all tired from the last night’s sitting on the ferry – except Frank, who took advantage of his air mattress.

We dined at the hotel’s beachside restaurant before returning to our accommodation. The ability to recharge the vehicles at the hotel’s charging station made our life easier today.

Total distance covered: 4147 km – daily stage: 91 km
